Examples of Past Hawai'i Okianwa Partnership Activities
Support for overseas expanions of energy-related companies in Okinawa Prefecture to Hawai'i
We provided support for travel to Hawai'i, onsite-support, etc. for energy-related companies in Okinawa that whised to expand overseas. (Four companies were supported from FY2016 to FY2019. *Online seminars, etc. were held in FY2021.
Energy Education
Energy classes for elementary and junior high school students are held in Kumejima Town, which has a sister island relationship with Hawai'i County, incorporating aspects of the energy education program implmented by the State of Hawai'i.
Hawai'i Okinawa Clean Energy Workshops
Since 2010, workshops have been held annualy for energy engineers adn business operators from Okianwa, Hawaii, Japan, the United States, and other countries to exchange opinions and technologies. Starting in 2023, efforts previously included in the workshop will be summarized through taskforce meetings.
